Carson High School (CHS) senior sprinter and long jumper Ben Granados signed his letter of intent this morning to run Track and Field for the University of Jamestown in Jamestown, North Dakota. He was supported by his father and mother Emiliano and Rhaechul and two sisters Abby and Izzy Granados. Teammates and coaches gathered outside the Track Shack at Carson High School for the celebratory occasion.

Granados holds the CHS Freshman/Sophomore 200m record. He was the NIAA Northern Region Champion in the 200m and a State Qualifier in the 100m and 200m in 2018. He was the 2019 Sierra League 400m Champion, and this weekend he will be competing in the NIAA Northern 4A Region Finals at Reed High School in Sparks, Nev. It is also anticipated that Granados will compete in the State Finals next weekend, May 17-18, at Desert Oasis High School in Las Vegas, Nev.

"Working these last four years with Ben has been very enjoyable,” Head Coach Steven Nelms, CHS Track and Field. “Watching him grow, not only as an athlete, but also as a person has been very special. University of Jamestown is not only getting a great athlete, but also a great individual as well. I am excited to see what Jamestown has in store for Ben and the success he will have both on and off the track."
