Carson Adult Education Offers Opportunities, Classes Begin Jan. 22
For Christian Lynch, 28, and Andrea Munoz-Munoz, 24, the path to a high school diploma wasn’t traditional. Adult education is unique. Unlike K-12 education, adult education is a choice. The Carson City School District and Carson Adult Education is currently registering students for Spring 2024 classes. Classes begin January 22.
“Not everyone is in a place when they are 17 or 18 years old to successfully complete their high school education,” said Bob Chambers, principal of Carson Adult Education. “Sometimes life gets in the way. However, with regards to Christian and Andrea, life didn’t stand in their way forever. They understood the importance of a high school education and the opportunities that it affords them.”
Andrea and Christian chose to attend night classes with Carson Adult Education, and completed what they had started when they were teenagers, ultimately graduating from high school and receiving a diploma.
“We wish these two tenacious individuals the best of luck on their next educational journey,” Chambers continued. “They will be invited to walk in graduation ceremonies with Carson High School in June of 2024 to celebrate their accomplishment.”
Students can earn their GED and their high school diploma. Classes are offered both online and at night from 6-9 p.m. Those interested in continuing their educational journey, please call (775) 283-1350. The Carson Adult Education office is located at 275 East Park Street in Carson City.
